Yaz fentazi

Algerian-British musician, composer and Oud virtuoso, leader of the El Andaluz Band and Yaz Fentazi Jazz Trio. The Guardian has

described Fentazi’s compositions as having “breadth and atmosphere, and his oud soloing, which recalls the drive and dynamism of world oud star Anouar Brahem, is often stunning,”. (Guardian).

SAMIRA BRAHMIA

The Voice star Samira Brahmia and her world-famous band.

Samira has since galvanised a huge audience on both sides of the Mediterranean and has become a huge star in the Maghreb music scene, frequenting various Parisian editions of Folles Nuits Berbères, Barbès Café, and Cabaret Tam Tam at the Cabaret Sauvage.

EL ANDALUZ

Quartet Specialising in Classical Arabic and Andalusian music

El Andaluz is London’s leading exponent of classical Arabic and Andalusian music. It is led by oud (Arab lute) player and composer Yazid, who has performed with Robert Plant, Marc Almond, Transglobal Underground, Cheb Mami, and Cheb Sahraoui. He has also toured with Natacha Atlas and Hussam Alrassam.

Jaz KAHINA

A multi-genre lyricist with a well-established place in the subculture of underground British Hip-Hop. The combination of her original visual style, original content and fast-paced witty flows have turned heads and received critical acclaim from platforms such as MTV UK, Radio 1Xtra, and Romesh Ranganathan’s Hip Hop Saved My Life podcast. Jaz Kahina is currently working on her debut album and is set to take her place amongst the most skilled and innovative acts of the near future.

Samir nacer

Samir is a London-Based percussionist and drummer. An expert in North African rhythms. Samir studied Music in Algeria and has a vast musical knowledge 

Sid Ahmed EL BAHI

A great Chaabi voice & repertoire!

Sido is an Algerian Chaabi artist based in the UK, he comes from a family of musicians & music lovers. Graduated from EL ANKAOUIA Chaabi school where he was under the tutelage of El Hadi ELANKA, the son of the Hadj El Anka who created this music genre. Aged 19, Sido was chosen to represent the Chaabi music in France. a very talented musician, Sido plays the Algerian mandole and performs around the UK since moving here in 2004.

Imène MENAD

A multidisciplinary artist. From architecture to acting and singing, she is particularly moved by the emotions a piece of Art can procure. She performs on stage across London accompanied by David R, a talented guitarist who she met during her first year in London. Her style is tinted with her Algerian roots and French culture through a vibrant soul voice. Inspired by people she aspires to bring souls together to create meaningful projects. 


DANCE ARTISTS

ESRAA WARDA

New York's emerging dance artist & educator specializing in N. African traditional dance forms. A child of the Algerian diaspora, Esraa is a cultural warrior advocating for the representation & preservation of North African women-led dance traditions and the decolonization of euro-centricity, orientalism, and patriarchy in dance. 

HAYAT AMAR

From her earliest days, Hayet harboured a fervent love for Algerian dances. She honed her skills in Kabyle dance, blending her innate talent with formal training from a professional folk ballet in Kabylia, Algeria. In addition, she underwent instruction in other Amazigh Algerian dance forms, including Chaoui dance.  Her artistic mission is to preserve the genuine techniques of Algerian Amazigh dances, ensuring their transcendence through future generations in their purest traditional form.


VISUAL ARTISTS

HOURIA NIATI

Born in Khemis Miliana, Algeria in 1948 where she lived through the war of independence (1954-1962). Niati’s passion for art started at a young age. following in her father's footsteps, a self-taught landscape painter inspired by the impressionists, she initially trained in Community Arts in Algiers. 

In 1977, Niati moved to London enrolling on a fine art course at Croydon College of Art, followed by an MA in Fine Art at Middlesex University.

Anissa BERKANE

Algerian visual artist, graduated from the Algiers Fine Arts Society plus a year at the Algiers Fine Arts School in the 80s. After having followed academic courses for a mastery of colours and shapes, Anissa oriented her research to what is called 'symbolic expressions'. To her credit several personal and collective exhibitions. She is best known for her spiritually charged painting collection "Dhikr Pictural", which travelled around the world, from Algeria to Iran, as well as the UK and France.

HAMIDA Zéd

French-Algerian mixed media artist based in London. After an MA in art history & sociology, Hamida worked in museums & art spaces as mediator and freelance art journalist. Growing up in France with Algerian roots has always been a major role in the construction of her identity, which is one of her main subjects seen in her mixed media artwork which focuses on the creation of bridges between her two cultures.

JAMILA BOUGHELAF

Algerian-Italian artist & dance creative. A new found talent of Jamila’s since the pandemic is her incredible drawings, through her passion for visual arts and multiple techniques of portrait and life drawing, Jamila has produced some incredible art relating to her mixed identity and family history . She has since been pursuing a certificate at the Art Academy London.

Jamila is also a dance artist and producer, she aims to integrate both visual and performance art in her work.

MOURAD HAMLA

Algerian filmmaker, videographer, and photographer specializing in experimental cinema, documentary, and animation. His work explores themes of memory, dreams, and the human condition, often blending poetic narratives with visual innovation.

Hamla’s films, including Echoes of the Soul, Nothing Blooms, and To Kill Them All, have been recognized at international festivals. He is deeply influenced by Algerian culture and history, integrating symbolic and legendary elements into his storytelling. 

KHOUANE CALLIGRAPHY

Algeria-based artist & calligrapher, Redha learnt the love of letters from an early age in the Mediterranean town of Cherchel where he grew up. Linking the ancestral to the contemporary, he produces graphic illustrations using Arabic letters, making for spectacular results. 

Meriem Elatra

Born in Texas and raised in Algiers, Algeria. She works with different media, oil, ink and watercolour.   Her main interest is the representation of the human figure incorporating symbolic elements. 

Jumana جمانة

British born North African Artist & animator ⵣ. Self Taught & Always Learning London, UK  

Jumana explores themes of Home, Assimilation, and Nostalgia in her art, drawing from her Libyan-Algerian heritage. 

SARA EL AHMED

French-Algerian performer, actress and film director. 

Her latest indie production is Qardun.
